In our experience, we have found that Engelmann spruce (Canada) naturally suits the role for top woods better than any other. The overriding quality for body top material is an allowance for resonance and Engelmann spruce has this attribute in abundance. It is a light wood that is easy to work and enables a good tone response with a wide harmonic range. Visually Engelmann spruce is comfortable on the eye and its opaque light yellow tint is reminiscent of a mature acoustic instrument.

Back and Side
Yamaha uses solid rosewood for both the back and sides on all the L series models( except for "6"grade ). The rosewood blends extremely well with the Engelmann spruce top. It disperses resonance evenly and effortlessly.

Neck Block
The neck block reinforces the neck joint. Yamaha has improved the conventional `C` block design by enlarging the surface area that is in contact with the top of the guitar. The block securely meets the underside of the top adding a real depth to the tone of the instrument.

Bracing
X-bracing maps out the vibration patterns of the guitar. Our unique 90-degree X-pattern can be seen below. Each of the eight braces has been carefully positioned in order to bring out the tone in a balanced fashion and find a natural harmony with the guitar's tone woods.

Square Bracing
Yamaha utilizes vertical strips of mahogany around the sides of the body. Its starting point is as close to the neck joint as possible. These strips have two jobs: first, to aid a fuller bass helping the guitarist to really feel the work the guitar is doing and second these strips naturally offer a support role for the solid wood back and sides over time.

L Series Yamaha Acoustic Guitars

Yamaha LLX36C

Yamaha LLX36C Top: Solid Engelman Spruce Back and Side: Solid Indian Rosewood Neck: 5ply Mahogany,Padauk Finger Board: Ebony Bridge: Ebony Body Depth: 100-125 mm (3 15/16"-4 15/16") Nut Width: 44mm (1 3/4") String Length: 650mm (25 9/16") Tuning Machine: Die-cast Gold Color: Natural Finish: Hi-Gloss (Lacquer)

Yamaha LLX26C

Yamaha LLX26C Top: Solid Engelman Spruce Back and Side: Solid Rosewood Neck: 5ply Mahogany,Padauk Finger Board: Ebony Bridge: Ebony Body Depth: 100-125 mm (3 15/16"-4 15/16") Nut Width: 44mm (1 3/4") String Length: 650mm (25 9/16") Tuning Machine: Open Gear Vintage Finish Color: Natural Finish: Hi-Gloss Preamp: System41 2way

Yamaha LSX26C

Yamaha LSX26C Top: Solid Engelman Spruce Back and Side: Solid Rosewood Neck: 5ply Mahogany,Padauk Finger Board: Ebony Bridge: Ebony Body Depth: 100-120 mm (3 15/16"-4 15/16") Nut Width: 44mm (1 3/4") String Length: 650mm (25 9/16") Tuning Machine: Open Gear Vintage Type Color: - But finding a good guitar at a rock-bottom price can still be a roll of the dice. Ibanez has a solid track record for minimizing that risk and delivering playability and tone at the lower end of the cost spectrum.

Specs
Finish: Vintage Sunburst High Gloss Finish
BodyShape: Dreadnought Body
Neck: Mahogany Neck
BackSides: Mahogany Back and Sides
GtrTop: Solid Spruce Top
Rosette: Pearloid Rosette
Tuners: Ibanez Chrome Die-Cast Tuners
Fretboard: Rosewood Bridge and Fretboard
Saddle: Ivorex II ™ Nut and Saddle
BridgePins: Advantage™ Bridge Pins
Strings: D'Addario® EXP™ Strings

The Ibanez SGT520VS is an ideal beginner’s guitar and good enough that any player looking for a solid second instrument would also be well served by checking it out. It’s highly playable, tonally satisfying, and shows every sign of being a well-made and long-lasting instrument that may well mature gracefully in tone and appearance. With a street price of less than $200, it’s safe to say Ibanez has taken a step toward reaching a new high at the low end.

From:
www.ibanez.com/acoustic

Mike Garrigan Records an Acoustic Bass

Writen by Mike Garrigan at www.MikeGarrigan.com

I love the challenge of recording instruments that I'm not used to recording. Yesterday, at a tracking session for John Gillespie, I got my first opportunity to record an acoustic bass.

Even with acoustic music, I typically prefer an electric bass. The electric bass is a known quantity--fairly easy to record well. John is working on a 19 song album at my studio. He thought, and I agreed, that it would be wise to change up the bass tone a bit from song to song. An acoustic bass seemed like a good option for five of the songs.

An acoustic bass is a different beast all together. All of the rules apply for acoustic guitar, except there's the issue of it being a lower octave and more air being displaced by the lower waves. The go-to mic for this kind of thing is a condenser mic. Most engineers would lobby for putting the mic about a foot away from the instrument. I didn't do this.

I took a line signal from the instrument's pickup. The direct line from this acoustic bass sounded a bit clacky, so I rolled off a considerable amount of highs. Still, I wasn't getting the low that I wanted from the direct line. Rather than boost a bunch of lows on the EQ, I reached for a dynamic floor tom mic. I put the mic as close to the sound hole as I could. I was very pleased with the result. The lows are full and resonant and I didn't have to compress or EQ at all. That's what I shoot for.

Two Important Functions of Bass

In almost all musical forms, the bass has two important functions to fulfill.
First, the bass defines the chords being played and guides the movement of the music from one chord to another. This role is usually shared with a guitar or a piano.

Second, the bass provides the rhythm of the music being played. This role is usually shared with the drums. Because it links the two functions of rhythm and harmony, the bass is often the instrument around which the rest of the music is organized.

All music is organized into chords. A chord is a set of three or more different notes being played simultaneously, with one of the notes being the root note of the chord and the other notes defining the type of chord being played. The job of the bass is to indicate which chord is being played at a given moment, and this is most easily achieved by playing the root note of the chord.

From:
www.electricbluesclub.co.uk

Privacy Policy Statement

This is the web site of haryp.
Our postal address is
55792
Yogyakarta, Indonesia

We can be reached via e-mail at haryprast@gmail.com
or you can reach us by telephone at 6281804370011
For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server automatically recognizes the consumer's domain name and e-mail address (where possible).
We collect only the domain name, but not the e-mail address of visitors to our Web page, the domain name and e-mail address (where possible) of visitors to our Web page, the e-mail addresses of those who post messages to our bulletin board, the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, the e-mail addresses of those who make postings to our chat areas, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, user-specific information on what pages consumers access or visit, information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations, name and address, telephone number, fax number, payment information (e.g., credit card number and billing address), no information on consumers who browse our Web page.
The information we collect is used for internal review and is then discarded, used to improve the content of our Web page, used to customize the content and/or layout of our page for each individual visitor, used to notify consumers about updates to our Web site, shared with agents or contractors who assist in providing support for our internal operations, used by us to contact consumers for marketing purposes, shared with other reputable organizations to help them contact consumers for marketing purposes, , disclosed when legally required to do so, at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our Website and applicable laws or to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our Website, to a successor entity in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, sale of assets or other corporate change respecting the Website.
With respect to cookies: We use cookies to store visitors preferences, record session information, such as items that consumers add to their shopping cart, record user-specific information on what pages users access or visit, alert visitors to new areas that we think might be of interest to them when they return to our site, record past activity at a site in order to provide better service when visitors return to our site , ensure that visitors are not repeatedly sent the same banner ads, customize Web page content based on visitors' browser type or other information that the visitor sends.
If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by sending us e-mail at the above address, calling us at the above telephone number, writing to us at the above address.
From time to time, we make the e-mail addresses of those who access our site available to other reputable organizations whose products or services we think you might find interesting.
